New Mexico paycheck calculator, 2026
New Mexico publishes separate withholding tables for each pay frequency rather than a single annual schedule, so the amount withheld depends on how often you are paid as well as how much. There is no state allowance form; the federal W-4 drives the calculation. Our 2026 New Mexico figures are still being cross-checked, so this page shows the rules and sources rather than an estimate.

Bonuses and supplemental pay
New Mexico withholds supplemental wages — bonuses, commission, severance — at a flat 5.9%, separately from your regular salary. A bonus can therefore have a different amount withheld than the same money paid as salary, which is usually why a bonus arrives smaller than expected.

Notes and caveats
- The official TRD pay-period percentage tables are encoded directly. NFC publishes the same annual brackets but annualizes and divides for federal payroll; that shortcut can differ from TRD's pay-period tables by a few cents, so the state tables control.
- FYI-104 Table 3 is internally incomplete: its semimonthly 'Not Over' amounts are $304 single, $608 married, and $456 head of household, while its first formula rows begin over $335, $671, and $503. The encoded zero bracket continues to the first formula threshold, consistent with NFC's annual schedule; this publication gap is documented; the TRD pay-period tables were independently confirmed 2026-07-20.

This is an estimate of payroll withholding, not tax advice, and not a prediction of your final tax bill. Withholding is what your employer sends in during the year; what you actually owe is settled when you file.
