Tennessee paycheck calculator, 2026

Tennessee levies no tax on wage income, so nothing is withheld for the state from a Tennessee paycheck. The state previously taxed certain investment income under a separate regime, but that never applied to wages and has since been repealed — payroll withholding is federal only.

What comes out of a Tennessee paycheck

Tennessee levies no state personal income tax, so the state line on a Tennessee pay stub is zero. What is withheld is federal income tax, Social Security at 6.2% up to the annual wage base, and Medicare at 1.45% with no cap.
